Dr. Patricia Lontoc, Professor at Asian Institute of Management, serves as reactor in one of the parallel sessions.  She said that this event is very important to help the country device its own tool to sustain reforms, engage stakeholders and most importantly ignite new ideas for the development of the country’s health sector.

In line to its banner program Kalusugang Pangkalahatan (KP), the Department of Health (DOH) in collaboration with the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (PCHRD-DOST) hold the 13th National Forum on Health Research for Action with the theme “Kalusugan Pananaliksik para sa Kalusugan Pangkalahatan (KP4KP)” [Health Research for Universal Health Care] on 20-21, November 2012 at the Pan Pacific Hotel, M. The event features several sessions to discuss issues and concerns and research developments in the country’s health sector. This include: financial risk protection programs and the Philhealth; health facility enhancements; improving millennium development goals (MDG) and targets; and governance support systems in heath.

The two-day forum serves as a platform for dissemination and utilization of health research results and outputs, exchange insights and experiences useful for the creation of responsive policies and evidence-based decisions in improving the country’s health sector.

The event is attended by policymakers, health program implementers, experts from the academe, professional societies, research organizations, and non-health and health-related institutions both from the public and private sectors in the country.
