Corona Virus Scam Alert

Security experts have issued a warning about the proliferation of cybercriminals exploiting the corona virus pandemic via phishing attacks. Warning. This is a Corona Virus Scam Alert.

How Corona Virus Scam works?

Cybercriminals are sending emails claiming to be from legitimate organizations  and or impersonating individual authorities from certain organization. Pretending to hold essential information about the corona virus. Or offering an advice or some mitigating measures to control the disease.

Such emails may ask to open an attachment, access a link to a web page, that will eventually activate executable files and or download malicious software onto your device.

The malicious software, also known as malware, allows cybercriminals to take control of your computer, record your keystrokes, or access your personal information and financial data, which could lead to identity theft.

How to protect yourself against Corona Virus Scam?

RULE NO 1. BE SUSPICIOUS.

There are significant number of corona virus-related domains that have been registered in recent days and many have been linked to malicious activity. Be suspicious of emails sent from the following dangerous domains/links:

• coronavirusstatus[.]space
• coronavirus-map[.]com
• blogcoronacl[.]canalcero[.]digital
• coronavirus[.]zone
• coronavirus-realtime[.]com
• coronavirus[.]app
• bgvfr.coronavirusaware[.]xyz
• coronavirusaware[.]xyz
• corona-virus[.]healthcare
• survivecoronavirus[.]org
• vaccine-coronavirus[.]com
• coronavirus[.]cc
• bestcoronavirusprotect[.]tk
• coronavirusupdate[.]tk

Likewise, Be suspicious of emails having these email subjects:

• Covid19 Safety Measures,
• Health Advice Email,
• News Alerts from WHO,
• News Alerts from CDC,
• Corona Virus Map,
• CoronaVirus Update,
• COVID19 – Everything You Need to Know, etc.

RULE NO 2. ALWAYS CHECK AND VERIFY

Check the sender’s email address before you click or download any documents. Most of the time, cybercriminals are hiding under different names — that seems to be legitimate name of an organization. How to verify? Right click on the sender’s name to reveal the true email address and ensure and to make sure it is coming from a trusted domain.

RULE NO 3. NEVER PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE

Never provide personal information such as username, password, bank information, etc. via email. Legitimate organizations never ask for such information. In many cases, cybercriminals always insist or convince you to act now. Cybercriminals often try to create a sense of urgency or demand immediate action – with that go back to RULE NO 1.

Remember there is now scammers, if no one allows to be scammed!

Corona Virus: Wearing face mask gives false sense of protection

0
Corona Virus and Face Masks

While everyone is rushing to purchase the now become “high-priced” face mask, authorities warn — wearing a face mask could only give a false sense of security against corona virus.

In his statement, while discussing how Corona Virus or COVID-19 is transmitted, Singapore Health Minister Gan Kim Yong warns that wearing a face mask could only give us a false sense of security. Why? Because we are more likely to touch our faces when we constantly adjust our face mask, giving higher possibility that the virus reach our mouth and nose.

Corona Virus / COVID-19 transmission

Evidence suggests that the transmission of corona virus or Covid-19 is mostly via droplets. What this means is that, “the virus is carried within droplets emitted from an infected person through coughing or sneezing.” If these droplets come into contact with the eyes, nose or mouth of an healthy person he or she may get infected.

The virus could be transmitted DIRECTLY from infected person to the healthy ones. This is where social distancing applies to avoid direct contact with anyone. Please read this separate article about social distancing.

Meanwhile, corona virus could also be transmitted INDIRECTLY thru surface contact. Minister Young explains that when the infected person sneezes or coughs, the droplets may fall into the surface of tables and chairs. The virus may remain alive for few days. When someone touches the infected surface, the virus can be transferred to his / her hands then rub his eyes or nose without washing his hands, that person may become infected.

“Potential infection from asymptomatic person is less likely to be from coughing or sneezing directly because they don’t have symptoms but more likely by touching contaminated surfaces for which masks offer no protection,” Minister Young explains.

“Wearing a masks when we are well often give us a false sense of security instead. Because we are more likely to touch our faces when we constantly adjust our masks which is one way the disease reach our mouth and nose,” he added.

No cure for Corona Virus / COVID-19

Persons exposed to the virus maybe well for few days before developing symptoms such as fever, cough and some may develop pneumonia eventually.

There is currently no known cure or treatment for corona virus. The development of the successful cure may take time, maybe months or years. The current approach is to provide good supportive care for the patients to reduce complications and to allow time for the patient to recover.

Prevention is the key

As such health professional advise the most effective way that we can protect ourselves against corona virus is to practice good personal hygiene. We should regularly wash our hands with soap and water and avoid touching our face with our hands.

“These may sound simple but actually very difficult to do because all of us touches our face all the time. It is simple but extremely difficult yet very effective in preventing all kinds of infection,” Minister Young concluded.

WHO COVID-19 UPDATES: Tragic milestone and Success

0
COVID-19 Updates

“Every day, COVID-19 seems to reach a new and tragic milestone. More than 210,000 cases have now been reported to WHO, and more than 9,000 people have lost their lives,” says Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, World Health Organization (WHO) Director General during the press briefing today.

“Every loss of life is a tragedy. It’s also motivation to double down and do everything we can to stop transmission and save lives.”

NO more new cases of COVID-19 reported in Wuhan

Meanwhile, Dr Tedros also happily brought the good news about Wuhan, “We also need to celebrate our successes. Yesterday, Wuhan reported no new cases for the first time since the outbreak started.”

“Wuhan provides hope for the rest of the world, that even the most severe situation can be turned around, he added.”

Of course, we must exercise caution – the situation can reverse. But the experience of cities and countries that have pushed back this virus give hope and courage to the rest of the world.

Warning to the younger population

Every day, we are learning more about this virus and the disease it causes.

One of the things we are learning is that although older people are the hardest hit, younger people are not spared.

Data from many countries clearly show that people under 50 make up a significant proportion of patients requiring hospitalization.

“Today, I have a message for young people: you are not invincible. This virus could put you in hospital for weeks, or even kill you,” Dr Tedros warn.

“Even if you don’t get sick, the choices you make about where you go could be the difference between life and death for someone else.”

Global solidarity is the key to defeating COVID-19

We’ve said from the beginning that our greatest concern is the impact this virus could have if it gains a foothold in countries with weaker health systems, or with vulnerable populations.

That concern has now become very real and urgent.

We know that if this disease takes hold in these countries, there could be significant sickness and loss of life.

But that is not inevitable. Unlike any pandemic in history, we have the power to change the way this goes.

WHO is working actively to support all countries, and especially those that need our support the most.

As you know, the collapse of the market for personal protective equipment has created extreme difficulties in ensuring health workers have access to the equipment they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

Updates on medical supplies for front-liners

We have now identified some producers in China who have agreed to supply WHO.

We’re currently finalizing the arrangements and coordinating shipments so we can refill our warehouse to ship PPE to whoever needs it most.

Our aim is to build a pipeline to ensure continuity of supply, with support from our partners, governments and the private sector. I am grateful to Jack Ma and his foundation as well as Aliko Dangote for their willingness to help provide essential supplies to countries in need.

Diagnostic Kits

To support our call to test every suspected case, we are also working hard to increase the global supply of diagnostic tests.

There are many companies globally that produce diagnostic kits, but WHO can only buy or recommend kits that have been evaluated independently, to ensure their quality.

So we have worked with FIND – the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics – to contract additional labs to evaluate new diagnostics.

In parallel, we’re working with companies to secure the supply and equitable distribution of these tests.

And we’re also working with companies to increase production of the other products needed to perform the tests, from the swabs used to take samples to the large machines needed to process them.

Other COVID-19 Supporters

We’re very grateful for the way the private sector has stepped up to lend its support to the global response.

Just in the past few days I’ve spoken with the International Chamber of Commerce, with many CEOs through the World Economic Forum, and with the “B20” group of business leaders from the G20 countries.

We understand the heavy financial toll this pandemic is taking on businesses and the global economy.

We’re encouraged by the solidarity and generosity of business leaders to use their resources, experience and networks to improve the availability of supplies, communicate reliable information and protect their staff and customers.

And we’re also encouraged that countries around the world continue to support the global response. We thank Kuwait for its contribution of 40 million U.S. dollars.

In addition to increasing access to masks, gloves, gowns and tests, we’re also increasing access to the evidence-based technical guidance countries and health workers need to save lives.

WHO has published guidelines for health ministers, health system administrators, and other decision-makers, to help them provide life-saving treatment as health systems are challenged, without compromising the safety of health workers.

The guidelines detail actions all countries can take to provide care for patients, regardless of how many cases they have. They also outline specific actions to prepare health systems, according to each of the “4 Cs” – no cases, sporadic cases, clusters of cases, and community transmission.

These guidelines provide a wealth of practical information on screening and triage, referral, staff, supplies, standard of care, community engagement and more.

We encourage all countries to use these and the many other guidelines, which are all available on the WHO website.

But we’re not only advising countries. We also have advice for individuals around the world, especially those who are now adjusting to a new reality.

We know that for many people, life is changing dramatically.

Be healthy is the key

During this difficult time, it’s important to continue looking after your physical and mental health. This will not only help you in the long-term, it will also help you fight COVID-19 if you get it. Here are some tips directly from the WHO director General, Dr Tedros:

  1. Eat a health and nutritious diet, which helps your immune system to function properly.
  2. Limit your alcohol consumption, and avoid sugary drinks.
  3. Don’t smoke. Smoking can increase your risk of developing severe disease if you become infected with COVID-19.
  4. Exercise. WHO recommends 30 minutes of physical activity a say for adults, and one hour a day for children. If your local or national guidelines allow it, go outside for a walk, a run or a ride, and keep a safe distance from others. If you can’t leave the house, find an exercise video online, dance to music, do some yoga, or walk up and down the stairs. If you’re working at home, make sure you don’t sit in the same position for long periods. Get up and take a 3-minute break every 30 minutes.
  5. Look after your mental health. It’s normal to feel stressed, confused and scared during a crisis. Talking to people you know and trust can help. Supporting other people in your community can help you as much as it does them. Check in on neighbours, family and friends. Compassion is a medicine.
  6. Listen to music, read a book or play a game. And try not to read or watch too much news if it makes you anxious. Get your information from reliable sources once or twice a day.

To increase access to reliable information, WHO has worked with WhatsApp and Facebook to launch a new WHO Health Alert messaging service. You can read about this information on this article – WHO partners with WhatsApp for COVID-19 public updates

“COVID-19 is taking so much from us. But it’s also giving us something special – the opportunity to come together as one humanity – to work together, to learn together, to grow together,” Dr Tedros concluded.

COVID-19

With the proliferation of fake news that spread faster more than the COVID-19 itself. Finding the real information has becoming difficult, adding unrest to public by its misleading information, worsening the situation as we battle the real culprit of this pandemic.

Today, WHO is launching a messaging service in partnership with Facebook’s WhatsApp messaging service to keep people safe from coronavirus, by providing direct information, warning, and or latest update about the corona virus.

This easy-to-use messaging service has the potential to reach 2 billion people and enables WHO to get information directly into the hands of the people that need it.

From government leaders to health workers and family and friends, this messaging service will provide the latest news and information on coronavirus including details on symptoms and how people can protect themselves and others. It also provides the latest situation reports and numbers in real time to help government decision-makers protect the health of their populations.

The service can be accessed through a link that opens a conversation on WhatsApp. Or simply add WHO WhatsApp no +41 798 931 892 and send “hi” (without the quotation) to activate the conversation, prompting a menu of options that can help answer their questions about COVID-19.

The WHO Health Alert was developed in collaboration with Praekelt.Org, using Turn machine learning technology.

Social Distancing 101: COVID-19 Prevention is better than cure

0
Social Distancing 101

As COVID-19 continues to spread across the globe, many are starting to consider scaling back exposure to people, a tactic called “social distancing” and a buzz phrase for people closely following the pandemic. Much to the delight of germophobes and introverts, epidemiologists say social distancing can help prevent the spread of disease.

“COVID-19 have reached the stage in pandemic response where we need to move from trying to contain the virus to protecting vulnerable populations who are more likely to have severe consequences or die from infection” Says UTHealth

There is a wide range of options for someone wanting to begin social distancing, as it depends on how comfortable a person is taking risks. So, what exactly does social distancing look like?

Before you go doomsday prepping at a wholesale retailer and hunker down with your canned goods at home, here are some helpful tips to consider about how to put the strategy into practice, while maintaining some aspects of normal life says University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth):

Social distancing 101 – Skip the hugs and download food delivery apps

Polish up your fist pump or elbow bump.

Hold that high five, and maybe skip the hugs for now. Avoid handshakes or greeting with a kiss to avoid spreading germs via droplets. Waves and nods are good alternatives to handshakes.

Eat at home instead of dining out.

Consider cooking or ordering takeout, or better yet, delivery from your favorite restaurant or meal delivery service. Also, consider ordering groceries instead of shopping at the store.

Avoid large crowds.

Reconsider going to church, sporting events, and parties.

Work from home.

Explore options to video conference for meetings.

Do home workouts instead of going to the gym.

If you do go to the gym, make sure to wipe down all equipment with sanitizing wipes and let it air dry before using.

Watch for school closures.

Some school districts have already closed due to concerns about COVID-19.

Postpone non-urgent travel.

Be especially cautious when flying, and always check to see if your destination is restricted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

So, when should we start “social distancing?”

If you have a higher risk for contracting COVID-19, it is recommended to do social distancing immediately. High-risk populations include people who are more than 65 years old, have underlying conditions, are immunocompromised, or pregnant.

Also take note that viral infection highly depends on three main factors: Your health, Level of contact with a confirmed or presumed case of COVID-19, Extent of transmission in your region or travel destination.

Based on those factors, social distancing measures may vary. However, no matter the extent of COVID-19 spread in your area, it is recommend sticking with common-sense measures:

Keep practicing good hand hygiene.

Washing with soap and water is still the best practice. Wash your hands at least 20 seconds is needed to be effective. Be sure to wash your palms, fingertips, and fingernails, then dry your hands completely.

Hand sanitizer is a good option to use while on the go.

Buy whats available in the market and make sure it is at least 60% alcohol. Make sure you use enough to keep on your hands for at least 20 seconds then air-dry hands completely.

Avoid touching your face and any surfaces you don’t have to.

In any case, call or visit your physician if you develop symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 (fever, cough, and trouble breathing). They will give you instructions on how to receive care without exposing others.

Be informed by following updates on reputable websites.

Trading 101: Importance of support and resistance

0
trading

Before anyone enters the market, we always encourage them to invest in their own self first — meaning learning the basic principles as the market is really too risky. With that in mind, here are some helpful tips on trading.

In the Forex market, traders must understand the process of finding support and resistance levels. If you can know the support and resistance properly, your trading method will increase at a higher rate. Though it’s a very simple process the rookie traders always blunder things in technical analysis. They use too many EAs, indicators, and tools to find critical trading levels. Eventually, they end up with a messy chart.

It will be tough for you to trade profitably if you don’t understand the use of support and resistance. In this article, you will learn about the support and resistance and also how to use them in the Forex market to trade profitably.

Know about the support and resistance

In the market chart, support and resistance have a specific level. When the market moves it moves with a zigzag pattern, with the help of that zigzag pattern you can identify the support and resistance. When the market moves up and suddenly falls, the point from the price falls after reaching the highest point is the resistance. A resistance acts as a barrier that limits the bullish movement of the trading instrument.

And when a market moves up again after it reached the lowest point that is the support level. In the market support and resistance forms continuously in the zigzag motion. In other words, support is such a place in the market, where the buyers start to gain momentum and push the higher. The term may seem confusing but every trader needs to understand how to identify the support and resistance.

Setting entry or exist points

You can use the support and resistance level to place your entry or exit points on the chart. At first, you need to know how you can use then in your entry and exit points. If you want to use strategies in your trade, you should have a clear idea about the support and resistance points. Learn about the candlestick pattern so that you can short the pair after seeing the bearish price action signals at the critical levels. As a user of the price action signals, you must use the best trading platform. Search the term online trading Australia and you will find brokers like Rakuten is serving its clients maintaining a high standard.

As the support and resistance change continuously, you need to keep your eyes on the levels to get the price action. When support is broken it becomes resistance and vice versa. So, you need to set the entry and exit points according to the support and resistance level, and only then you will be able to save yourself from unwanted loss.

Why you should trade in the support and resistance level

The best way you can trade in the market is by simply following the flow of the market after the price has moved towards the level of support or resistance. You need to buy when you observe the price touches the support and is bouncing in the bullish direction. Similarly, you should sell if the price touches the resistance and is bouncing towards bearish. You should always keep an eye to the movement of the market so that you can clearly understand whether it’s a support or resistance level and by this, you can make profits in your trade if you can identify the levels properly.

Conclusion

In the zigzag movement of price, any top point can be the resistance level and any bottom point can be the support level. The more you will understand the levels the better your trading will be, to maintain a trading strategy the support and resistance levels play a crucial role. If you want to trade profitably and want to cut off unwanted loss then you must understand the support and resistance level precisely. Try to take advantage of the demo account to learn more about support and resistance level trading.

How to Do College Research Project

0
Research project

While students are being trained in the schools they have to complete a tremendous variety of academic assignments. Some are quite easy while others are really troublesome. This include making research or research project that really blows the mind of a student.

Making a research project may become the hardest challenge ever among students. Specially during college times, in fact many are failing because of poor research. For some google is their resort and find an online help by typing “Who will write my research paper?”

Online you can find many paper writing companies e.g. customWritings, which provide a great help to many students specially in writing all types of research projects.

Meanwhile, below are some helpful guides for students that would provide insights and smart tips on different academic writing assignments.

Find the Right Supervisor

There are some cases that students has the right to choose whom they would prefer to do their research. If that so it is recommended that you have to be choosy and be cautious. There are many experienced professors who really help students to complete real masterpieces. Pay attention to the professor’s reputation and listen to what senior students say. It’s likewise important to understand whether you’ll be able to build trustworthy and friendly relations with your professor. So choose wisely.

Brainstorm Your Project

The second step is to decide what research project to pursue. Brainstorming with your supervisor and write down all the ideas and concepts. Record even those points, which seem to be of little importance. Whoever knows they might be needed to broaden to make your research project more substantial.

Select a Good Topic

After brainstorming about your research ideas, now choose the final topic. If your meticulous enough you might have two or more topics you would like to pursue. Narrow down to one topic and focus your energy on it. Probably a research project that could possibly help to provide insights or solution to a certain or current pressing problem to the community. Or anything that provide solution to a certain problem — would be a great choice of topic for you.

Find Appropriate Information

It’s essential to support your theories with approved facts. Accordingly, you ought to make in-depth scientific research. You should find as many information resources as possible. Check educational, non profit and governmental websites, which end with .edu, .org, and .gov respectively. They are trustworthy and provide multiple verified facts, statistics, surveys, and other important data you would possibly use to substantiate your research.

Make a list of information you needed to position your review of related literature. More information, more referential facts is better.

Outline Your Research Project

Researchers should be disciplined and reasonably control their time. Thus, an outline becomes an important stage of the preliminary steps. It takes into account the main writing stages, which are the:

  • Abstract;
  • Introduction;
  • Thesis statement;
  • Literature review;
  • Methodology;
  • Data and results;
  • Discussion;
  • Conclusion;
  • References.

Try to predict how much time each stage takes. Set clear and realistic deadlines. Thus, you’ll properly control your time to accomplish and submit your research projects when it’s demanded by your supervisor.

Write Several Drafts

Research projects are very difficult and so, you should never try to complete the in a single set. You’ll be given enough time to write at least a couple of drafts. Your initial draft may be even quite messy and unstructured. Simply let your consciousness flow. Reread it and try to connect all the sections logically in the second draft.

Pay close attention to your grammar, vocabulary, style, and readability. Don’t overcrowd your texts with too many technical terms, which are unknown to other people. Avoid slang, clichés, and jargon because they won’t make your projects scientific-like. Make smooth and logical transitions. Don’t cram several topics in a single paragraph. Keep everything short and plain. Don’t write too long sentences and paragraphs. Add tables, graphs, charts, diagrams, and similar stuff.

Edit and Proofread

The last stage is to revise your research project. Make sure you don’t skip it and spend some time to properly edit and proofread your assignment. Give heed to:

  • Structure;
  • Format;
  • Citations;
  • Grammar;
  • Spelling;
  • Punctuation;
  • Stylistics;
  • Word count;
  • Language choice;
  • References;
  • Readability, etc.

Apply different methods of revisions, such as reading aloud from the end to the beginning, reading in your head, asking others to listen to your project, etc. Besides, it’s useful to try different learning applications. They help students to scan texts and identify grammar mistakes, the readability, problems with the choice of words, plagiarism issues, etc.

We hope this little guide would make your research a little bit easier. Enjoy researching!

Wrapping material that repels bacteria developed

0
Wrapping Material repel Bacteria

Aside from food packaging, where else you think bacteria could reside and stick around waiting for its next contamination victim – just wrap it with this treated material and your secured.

Well that’s exactly McMaster University invented. They developed a self-cleaning surface (material) that can repel all forms of bacteria. This technology can be used in preventing the transfer of antibiotic-resistant superbugs and other contaminants in settings ranging from hospitals to kitchens and food wrappings.

The new wrapping material – a treated form of conventional transparent wrap – can be shrink-wrapped onto door handles, railings, IV stands and other surfaces that can be magnets for bacteria such as MRSA and C. difficile.

The wrapping material is also ideal for food packaging, where it could stop the accidental transfer of bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella and listeria from raw chicken, meat and other foods, as described in a paper published today by the journal ACS Nano.

Inspired by the water-repellent lotus leaf, the new surface works through a combination of nano-scale surface engineering and chemistry. The surface is textured with microscopic wrinkles that exclude all external molecules. A drop of water or blood, for example, simply bounces away when it lands on the surface. The same is true for bacteria.

“We’re structurally tuning that plastic,” says Soleymani, an engineering physicist. “This material gives us something that can be applied to all kinds of things.”

The wrapping material is also treated chemically to further enhance its repellent properties, resulting in a barrier that is flexible, durable and inexpensive to reproduce.

“We can see this technology being used in all kinds of institutional and domestic settings,” Didar says. “As the world confronts the crisis of anti-microbial resistance, we hope it will become an important part of the anti-bacterial toolbox.”

The researchers tested this novel wrapping material using two of the most troubling forms of antibiotic-resistant bacteria: MRSA and Pseudomonas, with the collaboration of Eric Brown of McMaster’s Institute for Infectious Disease Research.

The researchers are hoping to work with a commercial partner to develop commercial applications for the wrap.

The research was led by engineers Leyla Soleymani and Tohid Didar, who collaborated with colleagues from McMaster’s Institute for Infectious Disease Research and the McMaster-based Canadian Centre for Electron Microscopy.

Doctors are prescribing toxic drug to children with Chronic Kidney Disease?

0
Chronic Kidney Disease

An analysis of records from primary care practices in the United Kingdom found that many children with Chronic Kidney Disease are receiving prescriptions toxic to their kidneys.

Researchers from the University of Montreal analyzed the 1997–2017 data on children who received medication from general primary care practices in the United Kingdom, found out that 71 percent of children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) received medication that are toxic to the kidney.

The study entitled “Primary Care Prescriptions of Potentially Nephrotoxic Medications in Children with Chronic Kidney Disease,” launched to determine whether the medications prescribed by the physicians are necessary and appropriate, or if alternatives could be prescribed instead.

In this study the researchers labeled medications as Category A (consistently recognized as toxic to the kidneys) and Category B (recognized as potentially toxic to the kidneys).

The analysis includes 1,018 patients with newly diagnosed Chronic Kidney Disease, and 4,072 patients without Chronic Kidney Disease. With an average follow-up of 3.3 years.

Results showed that 26% of patients (children with chronic kidney disease) and 15% of patients without CKD were prescribed one or more Category A medications.

When considering Category B medications (which include Category A medications), 71% of patients with CKD and 50% of patients without CKD received at least one medication during follow-up.

The rate of Class A prescriptions was 71 per 100 person-years and 8 per 100 person-years in CKD and non-CKD patients, respectively.

A person-year is the number of years of follow-up multiplied by the number of people in the analysis.

The respective rates of Class B prescriptions were 278 vs. 44 per 100 person-years.

Analyses revealed that children with chronic kidney disease were prescribed medications that were potentially toxic to the kidneys at a rate that was 4-times higher than in children with chronic kidney disease.

“We found that medications that are potentially toxic to the kidney are prescribed at high rates to children with kidney disease,” said Dr. Claire Lefebvre (MDCM) of Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR).

“We hope that this research result will encourage future studies evaluating the reasons for these high rates and, eventually result to the development of clinical decision support systems and physician education programs to reduce inappropriate nephrotoxic medication prescribing in children with chronic kidney disease.”

Co-authors of this study include Kristian B. Filion PhD, Pauline Reynier, Robert W. Platt PhD, and Michael Zappitelli MD, MSc.

The result of this study is published at American Society of Nephrology (ASN) | December 12, 2019, doi: 10.2215/CJN.03550319.
